Although the Sacred Heart is often crested with flames, Michael O'Neill McGrath's image includes a cool, healing stream flowing from Jesus' Heart. These refreshing waters might be a balm for those living in the summer heat. But at any time of the year, in any clime, the Heart of Jesus is the fire of God's love and the stream of his peace in our own hearts.

I love litanies, old-school and new-school! And I do cherish many works of art by Brother Mickey McGrath, especially those which emphasize the Church's universality. And you've reminded me, Father, that I really should finish Wendy Wright's book on the Sacred Heart!
