I realize that the post below (my musings on Holy Week) is a long one and that perhaps not everyone will read all the way through it.
So, just a quick question here.
What in your experience of Holy Week was most important for your spiritual life?
Please share any responses in the combox - and thanks!

What was most important in Holy Week this year was simply presence. I work full time in liturgy for a Diocese. I volunteered as music director at my parish for several years. Last year was the last one for a while though, as my husband and I found we were expecting our third child.
ReplyDeleteAnd so this year we were simply present. We had a babysitter each night (three children under the age of five are a bit much for Triduum) and the two of us went together. And then on Easter Monday we celebrated seven years of marriage.
It is the first time in the decade we have known one another that I was not "working" these days. We were present. We were together in the crowd. We were able to appreciate the ministry of others and watch and pray. It was a gifted time. We both found ourselves to be quite grateful.
Peace and quiet- to be open to the presence of God
ReplyDeleteI wish our diocese had more emphasis on reconcilation as your parish does.
I always enjoy the Chrism Mass too!
