From his Bench, Deacon Greg links us to an article on a document the American bishops will consider at their annual fall meeting: Preaching the Mystery of Faith: The Sunday Homily.
This instruction will succeed the 1982 document, Fulfilled in Your Hearing.
Fulfilled in Your Hearing was a fine document which perhaps didn't receive the attention and execution it deserved. You'll find a thoughtful survey of FIYH in a series on Todd Flowerday's page, Catholic Sensibility.
The bishops meeting is this November and the new document has not yet been released to the public.
I look forward to a look at the new material on preaching and an opportunity to comment on it.
