6 years ago today...

On July 18, 2007 it rained all day - on my day off.  So I decided to sit out the downpour and try my hand at something I'd been thinking about for a long time.  I decided to try to get a blog off the ground.

To my surprise, it wasn't at all difficult and by the end of the day A Concord Pastor Comments occupied a small niche in cyberspace.  I emailed some friends about my blog's existence and soon thereafter I "published" it, making it available to all and accessible by search engines.

This is post number 4,990.  I'm fairly certain I've posted every day since I began and it's been, indeed, a labor of love.

Over the years the shape of this page has moved away from commentary on a variety of issues and has come to focus on prayer, spirituality and Sunday worship -- and I'm pleased with the direction this has taken.

Everything posted here is also Tweeted (@ConcordPastor) and posted on my FaceBook page.  Through reTweets and FaceBook "likes" and "shares"; through fellow bloggers linking to my my posts; through parishes reprinting my prayers in their Sunday bulletins and sharing them on their websites; and through my readers emailing and forwarding, and printing and sharing my posts: my words reach an ever expanding readership and for all of this, your collaboration, I'm very grateful! You are all very much part of the work here.

I hope and pray it's the grace of God's Spirit that sparks my mind, my heart and soul and my imagination as I write.  I know this work has strengthened my own prayer life and spirituality and I pray it strengthens yours, too.
