UPDATED: God made me...

UPDATE:  I just realized that Joey Kane's article in America (linked below) is paired with a piece by Matt, his older brother, who'll be a senior this fall at the University of Notre Dame.  Both the Kane brothers are deserving of your time!

I hope you have a few extra minutes today to read this piece by Joey Kane in the current issue of America.

Joey's going to be a senior this fall at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, WA.

And, as Joey notes in the first sentence of his article, he has Down syndrome.

But the article is not so much about having an extra chromosome in your body.  Rather, it's about being the person God created you to be.

Or, as Joey puts it,
"God loves me because God made me.
He made me just the way I am,
and he loves me just the way I am."

This is an article about every one of us.

For a high school student, Joey has a good deal of wisdom.  Take a few minutes and let him share it with you.
