Pause for Prayer: SUNDAY 8/18

Lord,
   you know everything that will happen
      in my life today
but it's all still a mystery to me...

And because I'm slow to trust
   I'll worry and fret
      about things I don't know,
   I'll run and hide
      from what I need not fear,
   I'll spend part of my day
      second guessing all I say and do...

What a waste of a day, Lord,
   a day that's your gift to me!

So give me the faith I need:
   to accept my day as it comes,
   to trust that you walk by my side,
   to live this day in your peace...
