In the midst of some people's apprehension and fear,
disappointment and anger, confusion and strife,
remind us, Lord:
that yours is a peace the world cannot give;
that life's deepest peace lies in love, not the law;
that no one can steal the peace our hearts own;
that peace still abounds, around and within us;
that places of peace, of stillness and calm
are waiting for us to visit,
waiting to freshen our strength and our hope,
waiting to offer us peace...
Amen.
