Even after all these years, Lord,
there are still those times
when I think I can keep things secret:
that somehow you won't find out
what's on my mind and in my heart...
But you know all things, Lord,
and no matter how mixed up,
how crazy,
how bad or wrong my thoughts may be -
you know them all
and still, you love me...
Help me open up and share with you
my most personal thoughts,
and the secrets of my heart...
Be my wisdom, my counsel,
my contentment and serenity:
enlighten my thoughts, Lord,
heal my soul and bring peace
to my heart of hearts...
