My Wednesday prayer posts have featured Texting With God since February 2014. I find these the most difficult posts to write because of the nature of the subject matter and the constraints of the template for texting. In addition to that, my Wednesday posts generally elicit much less response than posts on other days. I've often thought of ending the series and was seriously contemplating yesterday's being the last one - but it got 18 "likes" on FaceBook! Still in discernment on this... if you have some comments, I'd be happy to receive them!
Something new! I have a friend who observes the fifth day of every week as Thankful Thursday! He sends out Thankful Thursday texts to friends and I very much enjoy receiving them. My regular prayer posts often focus on difficulties and struggles in life at large and in the spiritual life in particular. Following my friend's lead, today I'm offering Thankful Thursday Prayer Posts, a series focusing on gratitude for all that brings us peace, consolation, contentment and joy. (These will appear in my regular format, not as texts!) And thanks, J.A., for the inspiration to do this!

I'm thankful for your thoughts each day. They often bring me to prayer.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate very much your Wednesday "Texting with God" posts. They have staying power. I can understand the challenge for you to write them, but I will miss them should you stop. Maybe once a month?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Texting With God. It's a brief but powerful reminder. Please don't stop doing it.
ReplyDeleteHello from Virginia. I receive you by mail every morning and your words are part of my morning prayer. I look forward to your Texting with God every week and hope you will be able to continue composing them. God bless you and your ministry.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, your Wednesday format is my least favorite. I rarely (if ever) read them because I simply don't like the format. I cannot comment on the content because i never read them (whereas I read and ponder your other posts faithfully).
ReplyDeleteI love Texting with God too. It brings Him closer and feels like a real presence, one with whom I'm having a conversation. Thank you for giving us this gift! I look forward to the Thankful Thursday posts!
ReplyDeleteWe totally agree with B. Schmith.
ReplyDeletePlease continue Texting With God.
