Pause for Prayer: SATURDAY 8/3

When it's in the 80's
and I'm melting in the sun...

When I'm dry and parched
and thirsty for refreshment...

When another heatwave wilts my will
and leaves me with my guard down...

Then seize the moment, Lord:
reshape my listless self
in your strong image...

Reach out and refresh me:
slake my thirst with the waters
of your everlasting grace...

Step in, Lord, and be generous
in the ways you will restore me:
lift up in peace my body, mind and soul...
