Pause for Prayer: SATURDAY 4/4

Our worship this weekend on Palm Sunday begins with blessing of palm branches and singing Hosanna! Even here, on the first day of Holy Week, there's room for joy in Lent.  Within moments, however, the mood of our prayer changes with the day's readings, culminating in the gospel of the passion (the suffering and death) of Jesus.  Today's scriptures tell the whole story.

I'll be celebrating the Palm Sunday liturgy on Saturday, April 4 at 4:00 p.m., which will be live streamed here.

Let's pause for prayer today with two songs:  first, Chanticleer's beautiful rendition of Orlando Gibbons' 16th century composition, Hosanna to the Son of David and then Now We Remain, a contemporary piece by David Haas.  The two songs are centuries apart but serve as one in capturing this day's prayer.
