As this day begins, Lord, I want to pray...
- for all those who spent a sleepless night in bed,
tossing and turning, anxious and worried...
- for all the folks who'll stay in bed this morning,
emotionally unable to face the day ahead...- for all those who can't get out of bed this morning
because of illness or physical limitations...
- for people who have no bed to leave,
who spent the night, homeless, on the street...
- for any who are too tired to get out of bed today
because they work 2 or 3 or 4 jobs...
- for all who'll spend today at the bedside of others,
caring for those who can't care for themselves...
- for those who, from their bed, will leave this life today
and pass to life eternal...
- and I pray, Lord, for those who'll spend this day
counting the hours 'til evening comes
and it's time to go to bed again...
