This morning, Lord,
I pray for a day as beautiful
as my friend's sunrise...
I pray for a day that's gentle, not rough,
blended, not divided,
soft on the eyes, easy on the soul,
welcoming, warm and wide open
to good news, good times and good people...
I pray for a day as restful as Juan's photo,
a day as peaceful as those pastels,
a day for prayer, a day for rest,
a Sabbath of your presence, Lord,
a day to spend with you...
And if such a day's
too much to ask this morning,
then maybe, Lord,
you'd offer such a day
tomorrow...
Amen.
