Pause for Prayer: FRIDAY 9/10

As your rising sun shines on a new day's path, Lord,
     break through the darkness of my lonely nights...

Break through the shadows of my fear
      and all that keeps me from the promise this day brings...

Break through the hardness of my heart
     and let me hear the word you whisper in my prayer...

Break through my blind and stubborn will
     and help me see your purpose in my life...

Break through my anger, my resentment:
     tame my bitterness, my temper, my impatience...

Break through the clouds that blur and dim my hope:
     give me confidence and faith and trust in you...

Break through my pretense and my pride, Lord:
     help me own myself for who I'm made to be...

Break through the walls that I've built to keep me in
    and through the walls that keep my neighbor out...

Break through the fears that haunt my troubling dreams:
     give me serenity and rest and peace of mind...

Break through the finespun web that veils my nights, Lord,

    break through with grace to light your way upon my path...
