Pause for Prayer: THURSDAY 9/9

What a shame it would be, Lord,

   if my burdens and problems kept me from

      seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, 
       finding and enjoying
   all the simple joys and blessings 

      you'll offer me today...

Though this day will have its troubles,

    its trials and its tears,
let nothing keep me distant

    from your presence, Lord, your peace...

 

When heartache blurs my vision

    when strife and stress are all I know,

open wide my eyes  to see, to find 

    the blessings hidden in this day...

 

In the midst of my own storm, in the

    roaring, crashing thunder of it all,

help me find peace, Lord, and serenity:

    your healing touch upon my soul...*

   

Let nothing keep me from your peace, Lord,

   the peace you have in store for me,

the peace that seeks to find and bless me 

    every single day...

Amen.
