NIGHT PRAYER: Saturday 1/15

When it's down in the single digits, Lord,

    share your endless warmth with me...

 

When the fire's dying, embers glowing,

    rekindle your Spirit's spark inside me...

 

When the silence is deafening, speak your word,

    softly, gently, in my prayer...

 

When the nights are lonely, cold and long,

    call me by name and stay by my side...

 

When I'm not sure where next to turn,

    give me your star to lead me home...

 

Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake

and watch over me when I sleep

that awake, I might keep watch with you

and asleep, rest in your peace...

 

Amen. 

 

Tonight's music has just a hint of Christmas in the third 

verse, but we still get lost, we still need the star, we all

still seek the One who came...

On wind you enfold us You speak of the light
Gentle on the ear you whisper softly
Rumors of a dawn so embracing
Breathless love awaits darkened souls
Soon we will know of the morning.

Spirit among us, shine like the star
Your light that guides shepherds and kings from afar
Shimmer in the sky so empty, lonely
Rising in the warmth of your Son's love
Star unknowing of night and day
Spirit we wait for your loving Son.
