So many things, Lord, rob me of my serenity:
my fears, real and imagined;
my anxious heart, troubled by the past
and by all that's yet to come;
the waves of grief that ebb, flow
and crash upon my soul;
the anger I disguise as disappointment;
the loneliness of helplessness,
the helplessness of loneliness...
There's an aching wondering, Lord,
Where are you in all my troubles?
And a tearful confidence You're with me through them all...
Calm me, Lord,
as you calm the storm;
still me, Lord,
keep me from harm;
let all the tumult within me cease
and hold me, Lord, in your peace...
Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake
and watch over me while I sleep
that awake, I might keep watch with you
and asleep rest in your peace...
Amen.
I only discovered this beautiful song today:
I pray it offers you at least a measure of the peace it offers me...

as you calm the storm
still me, Lord,
keep me from harm
let all the tumult within me cease
and hold me, Lord, in your peace...
