NIGHT PRAYER: Monday 1/9

 

Only a week into the new year, Lord,
but my life's already filling
with the blessings and the burdens
a heart's designed to hold... 

• So, here are all my joys, Lord,
    lifted up in prayer
    with my gratitude and praise...

• And here are all my doubts, Lord,

    lifted up in prayer

    for your Spirit's gift of wisdom...

• And here, Lord, all my hopes and dreams,

    lifted up in prayer

    for your guidance, help and strength...

     

• And here, Lord, see my tearful grief,

    lifted up in prayer

    for your gentle, healing touch...

• And here are all my needs, Lord,
    lifted up in prayer,
    trusting you to make me whole...

• And here, Lord, all my faults and sins,

    lifted up in prayer

    for your mercy and forgiveness...

• And here, my gifts and blessings, Lord, 

    lifted up in prayer

    that I might share all I've received...

• And here my friends and family, Lord,
    lifted up in prayer
    for your face to shine upon them...

• And here, Lord, see my whole, wide world,
    lifted up in prayer
    for you to bless with grace and peace...

Only a week into the new year, Lord,

So I lift my prayer to you, Lord:

    my ever faithful God,

    my heart's sweet consolation,

    my soul's redeeming hope...

Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake

and watch over me while I sleep

that awake, I might keep watch with you

and asleep, rest in your peace...

 

Amen.

blessing burden-bearing God.

 

When I think all the times God’s carried me through

I can never praise him enough.

He’s been there in sickness, been there through trials

when my road got rocky and rough.

I can give testimony to any and all

to the victories waiting ahead.

“I’ll never leave you, I’ll never forsake you,”

this is what my Jesus said.
