NIGHT PRAYER: Thursday 3/2

Just about every moment of every day, Lord,

    I get to choose...

 

I get to choose

    the next right thing to do...

 

I get to choose

    between lying and telling the truth...

 

I get to choose

    to speak or remain silent...

 

I get to choose

    between my needs and my neighbor's...

 

I get to choose

    to do what you ask or just what I want...

 

I get to choose

    to be honest or to cheat...

 

I get to choose

    to be foolish or wise... 

I get to choose

    between forging ahead or falling behind...

 

I get to choose

    between your word and my comfort...

  

I get to choose

    to reach out or withdraw...

 

I get to choose

    to be part of the problem or part of the solution...

 

I get to choose

    to pay attention or zone out...

 

I get to choose

    to love or to hate...

 

I get to choose

    to forgive or condemn...

 

I get to choose

    the real or the fake...

 

I get to choose

    to be careful or careless...

 

I get to choose

    between doubt and faith...

 

I get to choose

    to help or ignore those around me...

 

I get to choose

    to be selfish or selfless...

 

I get to choose

    to exclude or welcome the newcomer...

 

I get to choose

    between grace and sin...

 

I get to choose

    to persevere or give up...

 

I have a lot of choices to make, Lord:

    every day and all day long...

 

Help me to choose wisely,

    out of love for you and my neighbor;

help me to choose as you'd choose, Lord,

    help me choose  life over death...               

     

Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake

and watch over me while I sleep

that awake, I might keep watch with you

and asleep, rest in your peace...
