Thanks to Rocco for a post on the birth of a new nation: South Sudan, and for this wonderful video of Sudanese worship.
Those familiar with the Roman rite will recognize that ritual being celebrated graciously and reverently by the priest and his people. What will be unfamiliar to most of us is the music and the dance which are clearly gracious and reverent expressions of the prayer of the Sudanese people.
How beautiful the prayer of these people! How faithful to the universal rite is this sacred action! How much hope we find in the prayer of these people who pray as the Church asks in their own language, song, movement and faith!
