Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 1/19

If I'd not worry about the future
and spend for today
the time I waste
in fretting about tomorrow,
then...

I'd have more energy
to do what this day asks of me
with greater mindfulness,
focus and attention
and then...

I'd waste less time
grieving all my yesterdays,
rehearsing all my troubles

and things now past my reach,
so, Lord...

Help me keep it in today!

Help me keep it in the moment,
now,
not in times long gone
nor in days I've yet to see
- but now!

Lord,
help me keep it in today!
