Lord,
teach me not just to pray
for a brighter future
and to hope
for a better tomorrow
but also to envision,
anticipate,
await,
count on,
be ready for
look for,
plan on
and expect
a better day tomorrow...
And if seems, tomorrow,
a better day has yet come,
then give me the insight, trust and wisdom
to see the better parts
of the day that did arrive,
the parts I likely missed...
And then,
teach me to pray, to hope
and to expect
a better day to follow...
Amen.
