Several people have asked me how I would pray for Cardinal Law at the time of his death. I pray for him as I would pray for any brother or sister in Christ who has died.
Remembering the words of Jesus when others asked him how to pray,
Forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us...
I pray:
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
