Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 5/8

Some days are painful, dark

and hard to endure:

they last too long, Lord...

I've had plenty of those days

and I know you knew them, too...

And some days are a joy:

drenched in light, filled with grace:

they make all life worth living...

I've had those days, too, Lord,
but not, I think, enough of them...

And then comes a day,
a hard, heavy day when, by surprise, 

peace breaks through
easing, healing, blessing my soul...

Such a day was yesterday

and for it, Lord,I thank you
and pray the same today

for all who read these words...

Amen.
