Lord,
how easily, how quickly, how often
we forget and ignore and even reject the truth
that we are created in nothing less
than the very image of you...
In your divine image, Lord,
you created us,
intending for us to reflect and mirror
your beauty, your balance, your brilliance...
And on those days, Lord,
when we welcome your Spirit's breath
to claim and calm our troubled waters,
on those days, Lord,
like the stilled surface of Henry's pond,
our souls mirror something of the beauty
in whose image each of us
is carefully, lovingly, uniquely made...
Purify and polish us, Lord:
reach down to the depths
of our worries and fears and our rage
and give us your peace, Lord...
By the power of your Spirit,
with the blessing of your grace,
in the joy of your love
give us serenity to accept the things
we cannot change,
to change the things we can
and the wisdom to know the difference...
Let your peace deep within us
give us all we need to reflect and mirror
the beauty, balance and brilliance
of the One in whose image
each of us has been fashioned
and all of us have been made...
