A Concord Pastor Comments: NIGHT PRAYER: Monday 4/13

Where I live, Lord,
the day was shadowed in clouds,
battered by muscled gusts,
drenched in driving sheets of rain:
then night fell
and darkness scattered
what little light this day had given...

And in the darkness,
worry magnifies my fear of things I do not know,
anxiety deepens my dread of what might come tomorrow
and doubt dims my hope that I'll know peace again...

And in the darkness, Lord,
even in my prayer,
I often feel alone,
longing for the company of one who understands,
of one to take my hand,
of someone to assure me that I am not forgotten,
that I am cared for, loved and heard...

In the darkness of this night, Lord,
I call on all the saints to pray for me,
to lift me up in love into your strong and saving arms,
to enfold me in the promise
that I'm ever in your care, always in your love,
that my every prayer is heard...

All you saints of God,
all you holy men and women,
pray for me!
