Pause for Prayer: FRIDAY 7/31

On vacation, Lord, connecting with friends
but with a nod to Corona, refraining
from our familiar hello-and-goodbye hugs 
- and oh, I miss those hugs a lot!

Still,  I've left these sweet reunions
feeling held and warmly cared for:
   seems souls have arms for hugging, Lord,
   for holding others close in love,
   in prayer, in bonded hearts...

So, 'til it's time again for real hugs, Lord,
I'll give and take the virtual,
grateful that you hold me
in the arms of your choice mercy,
the embrace of your deep peace,
in the hearts of faithful friends...

Amen.
