Such a fine line marks the border
   and keeps the pond's coarse edge
      from cool sweet waters,
         blue beneath the April sky... 

Lift my face to you, Lord,

   and draw my toes across the line 

      that keeps me from the depths

         of your refreshing peace...

Let me wade into your waters

    and swim out far away       

       from all that keeps me

          on that rocky strand of fear...

Erase the line I've drawn 

   and walk me past it

      to the waters of your life 

         where your promise keeps me safe...
