There comes a day, every year,
when something in the air,
in the light and in the sky,
in the greenery and gardens,
in the warm and gentle breezes,
in the sunrise choir of birds -
a day when something turns my head and heart
and I believe again that out of winter
you have drawn a season, Lord,
a reason to believe...
Today was that day...
I'd had no doubt that spring would come
and yet I held my breath, put my hope on hold
and waited, as I do each year,
until there came, as promised,
signs of your hand moving, gently, at your own pace,
coaxing life to birth from frozen ground
and branches stripped by winter's icy grip...
Help me believe, Lord,
that in my head and in my heart,
indeed, within my soul,
that you have power, all year 'round,
to calm my fears, restore my hope and coax to life again
all that's dormant deep within me,
all that waits and prays a springtime of your grace,
a season, a reason to believe, again,
in you and in your love...
Amen.
Springtime by Chris Renzema
You’re the resurrection
That we’ve waited for
You buried the night
And came with the morning
You’re the King of Heaven
The praise is yours
The longer the quiet
The louder the chorus
Ohhhh
Ohhhh
We will sing a new song
'Cause death is dead and gone with the winter
We will sing a new song
Let hallelujahs flow like a river
We’re coming back to life
Reaching toward the light
Your love is like springtime
You’re the living water
God we thirst for you
The dry and the barren
Will flower and bloom
You’re the sun that’s shining
You restore my soul
The deeper you call us
Oh the deeper we’ll go
Come tend the soil
Come tend the soil of my soul
And like a garden
And like a garden I will grow
