Here's a prayer particularly appropriate for these last few days before Lent which begins this week on Ash Wednesday. Especially appropriate is the "Hallelujah" for those of us who will sing that word for the last time today before it's retired for the Lenten season.
Today's Pause for Prayer comes from the lyrics of "Hear My Prayer" by Moya Brennan on her CD, Signature. An audio of her song follows after the text.
Hear my prayerBring me through the darkness,Hear my heartDraw me inOn this bright, new morningHere I am, stay with meNever too late to forgiveHere I am, set me freeSing Hallelujah
Angels walk with meGuide me to the water's edgeWash away my doubts, my fears
Lord, strengthen me and bring me back to youChange my heartWith a gentle touch you change my worldHold me closeFill my life with beautyHear my voice, stay with meBring cool water to my lipsHear my prayer, set me freeSing Hallelujah
