When something I write for my blog or a homily touches my readers and listeners, I can only thank God for the grace, the mystery of how the Spirit moves in my mind and my imagination, in my own prayer and in yours. I had this experience this morning, preaching at a funeral mass, and so tonight, I thank God for the gifts that are mine to share...
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of your grace
poured into my heart,
lifting my soul,
enlightening my mind
and sparking my imagination...
It's your grace, Lord, flowing
like a calming stream of peace,
a waterfall of insight,
a river rolling deep with power
to touch and bless a grieving soul...
It's your gift of grace, O Lord,
filling this fragile vessel
to slake the thirst of your people, parched
for a sip from your cup of love...
Open us, Lord, to all the ways
you pour yourself out and into our lives.
Flood us, refresh us, forgive and restore us
in your waters of healing, mercy and peace...
Protect us, Lord while we're awake
and watch over us while we sleep
that awake, we might keep watch with you
and asleep, rest in your peace...
Amen.

1) Take, Lord, receive, all my liberty,
my memory, understanding, my entire will!
Give me only your love and your grace
Give me only your love and your grace
that's enough for me!
Your love and your grace are enough for me!
2) Take Lord, receive,
all I have and possess.
You have given all to me,
Your love and your grace are enough for me!
2) Take Lord, receive,
all I have and possess.
You have given all to me,
now I return it.
3) Take Lord receive,
3) Take Lord receive,
all is yours now.
Dispose of it,
Dispose of it,
wholly according to your will.
