Pause for Prayer: SATURDAY 11/16

Of this I can be certain, Lord:
every day of my life is filled with opportunities

   to change in me what needs to be changed...

   to forgive someone who's offended me...
   to work on things I’ve put off too long...
   to let go a resentment, a grievance, a grudge…
   to rejoice in my neighbor's blessings...
   to speak a word I need to say...

   to do the next right thing...

   to make progress my goal - not perfection...

   to own in me what I need to own...
   to ask pardon of someone I've hurt...
   to get off my butt and get to work...

   to make peace with friends and family...
   to open my heart to someone in need...
   to contact someone who misses me...

   to be grateful to you for what I have...
   to comfort a friend in trouble...

   to walk my talk with integrity...
   to right a wrong I'm part of...
   to walk in my neighbor's shoes...

   to count my blessings again and again…
   to look for the best in everyone I meet...

   to grow in faith, in trust, in hope…
   to shut my mouth and listen up...

   to remember I’m not, I’m never alone…
   to search for truth and wisdom…

   to act with prudence and patience...
   to slow things down inside me...

   to spend time with you in prayer…
   to place my troubles all in your care...
   to trust that you are always there...
   to name you as my Lord and my God...

   to spend some time reading the Scriptures…
   to name you the source of all my blessings...
   to share the gifts you've given me...

   to live my life a day at a time
   and to grow in your love...

      your peace and your grace... 

 

Opportunities are invitations, Lord,
   and they come to me every day of my life.

Help me respond to at least a few today

   and make of my day

      the day you made it to be…
