Pause for Prayer: THURSDAY 1/23

 

Frost and chill, bless the Lord;
praise and exalt him above all forever.
Ice and snow, bless the Lord;
praise and exalt him above all forever.
Daniel 3:69-70

Frost and chill 

will praise you without end, Lord,
but my heart longs for fire and heat 

to warm the corners of soul...

While blessed ice and snow exult
my heart waits 'til springtime's promise
 glories in your name...

I know you're here in every clime
but all within me 

longs for longer days
and healing rays of sun...

 

    Might you, in winter

    warm me, Lord, 

    and breathe in me 

    a heat to thaw my chill?

 

    Might you, in winter

    shine on me 

    a light too soon

    in January's darkness? 

 

    Might you, in winter,

    melt and thaw

    my shivering heart

    to beat as one with yours?

    

Frost and chill 

will praise you without end

but my heart begs your fire and heat 

to toast the corners of soul

and hold me snug

in your embrace...
