Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 4/22

In August 2023, speaking to young people at World Youth Day in Lisbon, Pope Francis said:

"In the Church there is space for everyone 

and where there isn't
    - please, let's work so there is.

"Room for those who make mistakes,
    room for those who fall,
        room for those who find it difficult. 

 "Repeat with me:
    Todos! Todos! Todos!
    Everyone! Everyone! Everyone!

"This is the Church, the Mother of all
    - there is room for all!"

 

Pause for Prayer 

 

Lord, 

if I want the church to make room 

    - for everyone -

for those who make mistakes,

for those who fall, 

and for those who find it difficult

 

then...

 

I need to make room in my life 

    - for everyone -

for those who make mistakes that hurt me,

for those who displease and fail me,

for those I find different, difficult and annoying.

 

I need to make room in my heart, Lord,

    as you make room in your heart for me,

when I make mistakes that harm my neighbor,

when I fail in living and walking your way,

when pride and envy blind me to love.

 

Help me make room for everyone, Lord,

    Todos! Todos! Todos!  

as you and your church

    make room for me...
