Monday Morning Offering: 8/4

Good morning, good God!

 

Lord, before anything else today:

    I offer you my thanks 

        for the rushing, gushing waters

            of Clear Creek, Colorado,

    hushing my poor soul 

        in gentle, calming mystery

    and humbling me with wonder

        far beyond my meager words...  

 

 

But more more than that, Lord,

I offer you myself and pray:

    you'll quench my thirst for joy,

    cleanse my heart of all its sins,

    wash me in your glory,

    bathe me in your streams of peace,

    splash me with your playful grace, 

    soak me in your wisdom,

    flood my mind with sparkling light 

    and leave me dripping wet

    with moist anointings of your Spirit

    flowing over, in, around and through

    my life, my very being... 

 

O Lord: 

    drench me in your saving waters,

        purify my life;

    all but drown me in your mercy

        and save me as your own...

 

Thus, my Monday morning offering, Lord,

    inspired by Clear Creek

and lifted up in prayer to you

    this day, your gift to me...

 

Amen.
