Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 8/12

 

I posted this 6 years ago but I've enjoyed updating the ticket and the text...

 

Here's my ticket for today's performance!

 

God's the director - I'm cast as the lead:
   no understudy, stand-in or sub!

 

No audition, no callback, no rehearsal -

  I'm learning my lines as I go...
  
I live and breathe the theater of life,
   I'm never off stage - I'm always on...

 

There's plenty of drama all around

    -no need to add my own...

 

Elements of tragedy? 

    well, yes - of course! 

But lots of comedy, 

    romance, some slap-stick

        and a good bit of mystery, too...

 

The plot unfolds slowly,

    it twists and it turns,    
but I love the story

    and trust where it's going...

The script's not complete,

    I'm helping to write it;

Thank God, the Playwright

    still welcomes revisions....

 

There's more than 3 acts

    - more like 3,000,000 -

but the scene today

    has but one performance... 

 

And whatever today

    I might bring to this play

and whatever my life

    might bring to this stage:  

I hope I might hear

    when the curtain comes down:

        Applause! Bravo! Applause

 

So be gentle and kind

    when you write your review,

and come back again

    for tomorrow's show

when the lights will go up

    and the curtain will rise

on my play's new opening:

    a brand new day!
