Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 9/22

 

To the best of my knowledge, Lord,

I'm not in charge of the world today 

- and should that change: 

    I trust you'll let me know...

But I am still responsible 

    for all the usual tasks:

        listening to your word, 

        living by your wisdom,

        doing what's just;

        loving what's good;

        caring for others 

            as I'd want them to care for me;

        respecting life 

            in all its shapes and forms; 

    faithfully conserving 

        the gift of your creation; 

    and striving, always, 

        to do the next right thing...

So, keep me faithful, Lord,
    to the work that's mine to do;

no more, no less - thank you -

    what's mine is quiet enough...
