Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 9/9

I just wrote this prayer for a friend who's facing some serious problems and concerns - and I thought it might be helpful for many of us here in our virtual chapel...  

Be with me, Lord, when I am in trouble,

    be with me, Lord, I pray... 

 

I place in your strong and open hands

    any burdens too heavy for me to bear...

 

I ask you to wrap your loving arms 

    'round me and my family and friends...

 

I ask you to heal, to mend, to restore

    what's hurting, broken and weak...  

 

I pray you'll calm my worries and fears

    with peace to settle my troubled soul...

 

I ask you to deepen my faith in you

    and my trust in your word and grace... 

 

Be with me, Lord, when I am in trouble,

    be with me, Lord, I pray... 

 

Amen.

who abide in the shadow of our God,
say to the Lord,  "My refuge and fortress,
the God in whom I trust!"

Be with me, Lord...

No evil shall befall you, no pain come near,
for the angels stand close by your side
guarding you always and bearing you gently,
watching over your life.

Be with me, Lord...

Those who cling to the Lord live secure in God's love
lifted high those who trust in God's name
Call on your Lord who will never forsake you,
God will bring you salvation and joy.
