A friend with an artist's eye photographed a river with leaves afloat, reflecting the sky - and then turned the photo sideways...
Lord,
you see me
as you see the world:
from top to bottom,
left and right,
front and back,
upside down,
inside out and
sideways...
You see the good in me
that I so often miss...
You see the gifts in me
that I have yet to find...
You see the worth in me
that I so undervalue...
You plumb the depths of me
and love me, heart and soul...
You see the whole of me,
yet cherish who I am...
Help me see as you do, Lord,
before I say I've seen it all,
before I claim I know it all,
before I think I've nothing left to learn..
before I say I've seen it all,
before I claim I know it all,
before I think I've nothing left to learn..
Help me see me as you see me, Lord:
from top to bottom,
left and right,
front and back,
upside down,
inside out and
sideways...
from top to bottom,
left and right,
front and back,
upside down,
inside out and
sideways...
Help me see as you do, Lord,
help me see what you see;
help me see what I have missed
and treasure all I find...
Amen.
