Pause for Prayer: TUESDAY 10/14

 

Some days, many days,

maybe even most days,

my life is filled with highs and lows:
  from tears and frustration
  to laughter and smiles
and then up and down

and all around 

and up and down 

once again...

Could be today
will be one of those days
so I'm hoping and praying

that this day will end
with my tears wiped away
and a smile in my dreams...

So I'm praying, Lord:

carry and hold me through this day's valleys

    of sadness, tears and regret;

and keep me moving, making my way

  to the heights of this day's joys...

Open my eyes and my ears, Lord,
open my mind, my heart and my soul
  to every lift, every rise,
   to every step forward and every step up
  to the heights of that peace that fills me
     with your healing, calming grace...

Let my tears, O Lord, be cleansing,
  and my laughter hearty and warm
that at this day's end, when day is done,
  my smiles outnumber my frowns...
