My obligatory disclaimer: I don't advocate for open borders or the toleration of
criminal activity.
Archbishop Aymond of New Orleans has dispensed from
the Sunday obligation those afraid to go out for fear of being
arrested, sent to detention centers or deported.
The archbishop is
dispensing folks who are afraid to leave their homes, not because of a
criminal past, but because either their place of employment, their looks or their
accent - and the abandonment of Constitutionally guaranteed due process
- render them vulnerable to inhumane, uncivil treatment.
