Good morning, good God!

It's Lent, Lord,
so I offer my desire
    - to get a few things right...

I want to get Lent right, Lord,
    to get myself right with you...

Help me get prayer right, Lord:
   email my mind with your words of wisdom,
   text my heart every day with your love,
       and help me be sure to hit REPLY!

Help me get fasting right, Lord:
   help me give up something I'll really miss
   to find the empty place that creates
   and to fill that space with a greater good...

Help me get almsgiving* right this Lent: 
   make me more generous than I've ever been,
   help me give til I feel the pinch, the cost
   and help me to share the bounty I find in sacrifice...

Help me get Lent right this year:     

   I offer my need to change what needs changing;
   I offer my prayer for you to change me;
   and I offer my hope that what change may come

     will be change that endures... 

Help me get a few things right, Lord,
   help me get things right with you
   and with my neighbors, near and far
   and with myself as well...

Amen.
