Good morning, good God!

It's Lent, Lord,
so I offer my desire
    - to get a few things right...

I want to get Lent right, Lord,
    and my self right with you...

Help me get my prayer right, Lord:
   email my mind with wisdom words,
   text my heart each day with love,
       and make sure that I hit REPLY!

Help me get my fasting right:
   giving up what I will truly miss,    
   to find that empty place within
   for you to fill with grace and peace...

And help me get my almsgiving* right:
   giving more freely than ever I have
   - til I feel the cost -
   and share the bounty of sacrifice...

So, I offer my need this Lent, O Lord,

    for you to change me  

    -  from the inside out -

with your mercy and healing, 

    in ways that endure,

        in ways that make all things right...

 

Amen. 

    

*serving the needs of the poor, 
providing for those in need
