Pause for Prayer: FRIDAY 2/10

Especially after Thursday's nor'easter,
I find myself (in February)
already longing for the spring...

Frost and chill, bless the Lord;
praise and exalt him above all forever.
Ice and snow, bless the Lord;
praise and exalt him above all forever.
Daniel 3:69-70

Frost and chill may praise you without end, Lord,
but my heart waits
your heat and light to warm my soul...

While bless├Ęd ice and snow exult,
my heart awaits spring's promise
and its warming deep within...

I know you're here in every clime
but all within me longs for longer days
and healing rays of light and sun...

Would you, in winter, warm me, Lord,
and fan to flame a fire
meant to thaw my chill?

Would you, in winter, shine on me
a light too soon but oh, so welcome,
bright on these gray days?

Frost and chill may praise you without end, Lord,
but my heart waits
your heat and light to warm my soul...

Amen.

  1. I concur with your prayer. Even though so far we haven't had a terribly hard winter, I am ready for the warmth of spring too!
