Pause for Prayer: SUNDAY 7/4

I believe this is true, Lord...

But before I simply let go
a moral code's demands,
I need to seek and find and meet
your mystery-laden grace
seeking a dwelling place
in my mind and in my heart...

(Codes are actually pretty easy to deal with:
mysteries not-so-much-so...)

Today's the Sabbath, Lord,
a special day for spending time
to seek your mystery
seeking me... 

Slow me down this Sabbath day

and open wide my heart

to your mystery seeking me:

your grace-laden mystery, Lord,

come to make its home

and dwell within my heart...
