Just the second day of 2024
and I'm thinking, Lord,
that of all the resolutions
I might have made,
could have made
or should have made,
the greatest would be this:

to desire the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
to change the things I can;
to accept the things I cannot change,
to change the things I can;
to humbly pray for wisdom
that I might know the difference
that I might know the difference
and to live, Lord,
one day at a time...
To live each day of this new year
a day at a time,
ever mindful of your presence...
To live each day of this new year,
an hour at a time,
an hour at a time,
ever open to your grace...
To live each day of this new year,
a minute at a time,
a minute at a time,
ever grateful for your love...
A new year, Lord, a year to live
a minute, an hour, a day at a time,
in your presence, you grace and your love...
Amen.
