Yesterday, Lord,
was my last day as pastor of Holy Family Parish,
the place and people who've been my home and family
for 25 years...
I left with a heavy heart
precisely because life at Holy Family
has been my peace and joy
for a quarter of a century...
May the best of my memories
lighten and lift up my heart, Lord...
May the love of Holy Family's people
keep a home in my soul...
May all we've known and shared together
make us stronger in our faith...
Let your Spirit lead us, one and all,
to new opportunities
to hear your Word, to know your love
and to find the peace you offer...
For all that's been, Lord,
I praise and thank you
and for all that's yet to come I ask:
your light to guide me,
your love to sustain me
and your grace to be my strength...
