Pause for Prayer: SUNDAY 6/2

Sometimes, Lord,
the best thing I can do
is just to sit back and ponder:

all the many gifts you've showered on me,
   my blessings, joys and peace;                                                ;
all the times your hand has guided me
   when I knew not where to turn;
all the ways you've helped me learn and grow
   when I'd growing up to do;
all the times when you have pardoned me
   with mercy undeserved;
all the ways your grace has helped me choose
   to do the next right thing;
all the many times you've had my back,
   so faithful by my side;
all the ways your hand has raised me up
   from worry, doubt and fear;
all the times when you've empowered me
   when my strength flagged and failed;
all the ways your Spirit stirred and fed
    my mind's imagination;
all the times your wisdom gently tamed
   my daft and foolish thoughts;
all the ways that you've restored my hope
    when I had lost all trust;
and all the times when you have blessed my life
   with friends beyond compare...

Sometimes, Lord,
the best thing I can do
is just to sit back ponder
all the many gifts you've showered on me
   the blessing of your love,
   the joy of serving you
   and the peace that only you can give...
