Pause for Prayer: SATURDAY 10/23

 

So many people ask me to pray for them and I'd like to invite all of you to join me in prayer for their intentions  --- but I'm often not in a position to tell you who has asked for prayer or what they've asked me to pray for...  So I've written this post inviting us to pray for others' needs without revealing names or intentions...

 

Hear us as we pray, Lord...

 

For those who have have wounds

    too painful to reveal,

        we pray to you, Lord.

For those in financial crisis,

    especially the unemployed,

        we pray to you, Lord...

For those in troubled families,

    struggling to find peace,

        we pray to you, Lord... 

 

For the sick in mind and body,

    for their comfort and their healing,

        we pray to you, Lord... 

 

For those who have joy

    they're not free to share,

        we pray to you, Lord... 

 

For those who suffer prejudice,

    at work, in school, at church,

        we pray to you, Lord... 

 

For those of troubled conscience,

    for their peace of mind and heart,

        we pray to you, Lord... 

 

For the addicted and dependent,

    for their recovery, day by day,

        we pray to you, Lord...  

 

For those lost in their confusion,

    who seek the strength of faith,

        we pray to you, Lord... 

 

For those who can't decide or choose,

    for wisdom and conviction,

        we pray to you, Lord...  

For those who are alone, afraid,

    unable to reach out,

        we pray to you, Lord...

 

For all who are disheartened, sad,

    who long for hope's assurance,

        we pray to you, Lord... 

 

For the needs and wants and pleas

    of every human heart

        (mention your own needs here...)  

for all these prayers known but to you,

    we pray to you, O Lord...
