Saw this video today, Lord
and it led me to pray...

I know so many folks, Lord,
who'd be oh-so-very grateful
if you'd just move the net for them
- even just a little bit -
so they'd be within reach of their goal,
could glimpse the light at the end of the tunnel,
could trust that their efforts might really succeed...
Not asking you to help anyone cheat, Lord,
just calling on your mercy and compassion,
to lower the bar and ease the burdens
of brothers and sisters who seem to bear more
than their fair share
of problems, troubles and worries...
Like the little guy in the video, Lord,
my friends are trying, trying hard,
to follow your word and to do the right thing
- but they sure could use some help,
the help that only you can give...
So please, Lord,
if it's your will:
please move the net - just enough -
to let my sisters, brothers reach
the place where peace begins...
Protect us, Lord while we're awake
and watch over us while we sleep
that awake, we might keep watch with you
and asleep, rest in your peace...
Amen.
TWO songs tonight! One light hearted, one more serious:
you can listen to both and choose the one
that helps you and your prayer!
Drop Kick Me Jesus (Through the Goal Posts of Life)
If a video doesn't appear below, click here!
Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life
End over end, neither left, nor the right
Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights
Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life
End over end, neither left, nor the right
Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights
Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life
Make me, oh, make me, Lord, more than I am
Make a piece in your master game plan
Free from the earthly tempestion below
I've got the will, Lord, if you've got the toe
Make a piece in your master game plan
Free from the earthly tempestion below
I've got the will, Lord, if you've got the toe
Bring on the brothers who've gone on before
And all of the sisters who've knocked at your door
All the departed, dear loved ones of mine
And stick 'em up front in the offensive line
And all of the sisters who've knocked at your door
All the departed, dear loved ones of mine
And stick 'em up front in the offensive line
Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life
End over end, neither left, nor the right
Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights
Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life
End over end, neither left, nor the right
Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights
Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life
Yeah, dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life
End over end, neither left, nor the right
End over end, neither left, nor the right
Help Me God by Kathy Troccoli

Help me, God I'm scared
And I'm unprepared to face the night alone
Hear me, hear my prayer
My soul, it aches and I've nowhere to go
Help me, God
In this dark hour,
I know only the power
That made the stars can mend my heart
Oh, I've tried on my own but I'm not that strong
You're all I've got, You're all I've got, help me, God
Sometimes, people leave
And I can grieve 'cause life's not always fair
Help me to hold on
Though I can't see You, I believe You're there
I know You're there
In this dark hour, I know only the power
That made the stars can mend my heart
Oh, I've tried on my own but I'm not that strong
You're all I've got,
You're all I've got, help me, God
Oh, I've tried on my own but I'm not that strong
You're all I've got, You're all I've got, help me, God
