How carefully, exquisitely,

you sculpted this one blossom, Lord,

and millions more you'll bring to flower

all around the world...

 

This bloom will last a day or two

and then begin to fade, its magnificence 

spent in praising you and pleasing us

for whom it bloomed...

My life span is much longer but

I fail to match magnolia's simple beauty,

so help me, Lord, to spend myself

in pleasing you who made me...
